Two years ago, I captured the moment when I wrote the first Notedd draft. I remember that moment like it was yesterday. I sat in a coffee shop, gathered my thoughts and ideas, and put pen to paper (well, fingers to keyboard 😂). Looking back, Notedd was a graduate research project that I thought would be fun to explore with my best friend. Never did I think it would allow me two incredible years with you, my fantastic community! I felt for the longest, it was going to be me talking to me, and even that was fine, but reaching more than 200 community members is the most beautiful part of this process.
You can't help but think about what's next, right? As I thought about what year two would look like for Notedd, I started to think about the metals you receive when you win a competition and couldn't stop reading about silver. Although it's not gold, silver has incredible significance — despite receiving it for second place. According to color psychology and often notedd in spiritual references, silver represents reflection and illumination. It's described as both a "mirror of the soul" and a light for a pathway forward.
Like silver, we will continue to be the mirror: the reflection of the news that you want to read on the topics and issues that matter to you. But I want this experience to be more than just a reflection or one that feels one-sided. As we read the news together, I'm excited to discuss those topics where we illuminate and enlighten each other by hearing your perspectives just as much as I share mine. Notice that you can like and comment right within this thread. I'll start us off with a topic featured in our newsletter and continue that exchange here where we, as a community, can read, reflect, and relate in dialogue.
I thank you. I celebrate you. I couldn't be more excited to be here with you as we embark on Notedd 2.0.

I thought of you the other day when my brother shared Morning Brew with me — totally different audience, goals, content, etc. — but it grew from b-school students and their peers, and has now grown into a force in its space. I know you’re going to do the same with Notedd.
