What Is Going On With DevaCurl? Haircare line DevaCurl is hitting the media sphere as a class action lawsuit is underway where many influencers, brand ambassadors and longterm customers are reporting that their hair texture and curl patterns have drastically changed after using DevaCurl products. Some are even reporting hair loss. A brand that markets to helping their customers with their natural tresses has shared that they have worked with third party vendors to further test their products, resulting in no concerns of safety issues. The lawsuit has just begun, and we'll continue to listen out to learn more on how this story unfolds.
Ending the Black Maternal Health Crisis: Black women are four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women. At the forefront includes Democrats within the House and Senate pushing new laws and plans to help solve this issue that is worse now than it was 25 years ago. Sen. Kamala Harris's CARE Act, Sen. Corey Booker and Rep. Ayanna Pressley's MOMMIES Act, and most recently Reps. Alma Adams and Lauren Underwood's founding of the Black Maternal Health Caucus are among many lawmakers are fighting this fight. There is currently a resolution on the table calling for federal action on the Black maternal mortality health crisis to decrease these racial based disparities nationally.
Honoring Jordan Davis: Georgia Congresswomen Lucy McBath pens a beautiful letter to her late son Jordan who was tragically killed in a Florida convenience store because his music was too loud. Rep. McBath shines a light on the growing hardship families face when losing your loved ones to gun violence.

The book turned movie turned television show features Zoe Kravitz who revisits her past relationships through music and culture while trying to get over her true love. The movie was based on a male protagonist where Zoe's mom, Lisa Bonet, was one of the love interests of John Cusack's character - how cool is that!
